AHHH, it's the old "Two Beer Syndrome" A lot of early Saab (and Volvo) had this problem. Ya stop in for a beer, when you go to leave it's crank, crank and Crank but no start. So ya go back in and have another beer and think about what to do. When ya go back out it starts on the first try. Unfortunately the solution was not to just drink more beer. In the Hall Effect distributors it was the tiny coils (that look like a spool of thread) would develop micro breaks in the wire which was heat sensitive due to expansion and contraction. Since your engine actually gets hotter when you shut it down due to lack of coolant flow it would get to the right temperature to expand that coil enough to cause an open circuit. In the time it took to have that second beer it cooled down enough to contract the coil and continuity was restored. Replacing the coil was an easy task but it was a design flaw that could return sooner or later.
