Thanks, I'll try the manual bleeding. But both sides are dragging with the new rotors and pads. Even retracting the piston all the way with the adjustment hex nut doesn't allow the pads to completely clear the rotor, although it turns relatively freely. But standard adjustment procedure doesn't seem to work. Of course the e-brake is useless when its retracted that far. Only reason I can think is the piston no longer retracts fully. The piston is visibly rusted and pitted where it contacts the pad back, I'll assume its gunked up inside. Already ordered replacement calipers for next weekend, and don't like my chances of reseating the boots or getting the old caliper back together if I cleaned it thoroughly today (bad experience w/ the front calipers). Running out of weekend.
OK to drive for a week with the piston fully retracted, so as to not to drag and toast brand new rotors/pads? Local pep boys doesn't carry replacement calipers.
