attention idle masters... Posted by CBS [Email] (#969) [Profile/Gallery] (more from CBS) on Tue, 6 Nov 2007 10:30:00 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
After swapping everything I can think of: AIC, AMM, Temp sensor, main ECU, TBV, and two cracked vacuum hoses -- I still have stall problems. Here are the symtoms: starts easy and runs strong for 20 seconds, then starts to rev to 1800 RPMs for a second and then drops to 400 RPMs for a couple seconds (and then dies half the time). If I babysit the throttle for five minutes warm up time, I can get it to idle in fairly normal manner. Also, when the idle is just about to do it's drop to 400 RPM thing, the turbo vacuum gauge shows a slight upward bump (meaning a loss of vacuum?). I checked through all the vacuum lines, again, including those under the knee bolster (the cruise works fine).
Question: what steps would a more seasoned saabnetter attempt at this point. Logically, I think replacing all vacuum lines with silicone would be a good next step. Are there any sensors missing from the list above that I could swap?? Your advice is appreciated as always.
