Well I'm sure you've read all about pinion bearing whine in these units. The most important thing to do about this is to be sure that it's a trnasmission problem before you start to fix it. Lots of things in your engine compartment can develop a whine. Anything with bearings can do that and the belt driven systems are big suspects for whining, especially engine rpm related whining. Power steering pumps are the best at this. So thing one is to isolate the source by the process of elimination. If you find that it is certainly the transmission then try changing the lube (it's full up right?). Often that will quiet them down. Read some of the posts on this BB for info and opinions about what lube to use. Good luck
