Bosch stuff doesnt translate Posted by Saabu [Email] (#1133) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Saabu) on Wed, 27 Feb 2008 13:29:55 In Reply to: Need advice on buying a 92 900S, Jan Markham, Tue, 26 Feb 2008 19:36:10 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
i too have a lot of LH 2.2 cars and parts and then bought a 91 900.
Most of the Bosch stuff is not interchangeable, CV's need the speed sensor ring, the ABS pump is quite expensive to replace and i dont see alot of these models in the junkyard, also is the original airbag intact? Front seats wont migrate as newer ones have different attachment system. All the brake rotors and calipers are different too.
Of course the running gear is interchangeable, windows, carpets etc (my 91 doesnt have a sunroof so more headroom but different sunroof card) and the car has a hell of a lot more power than the old 8 valver NA 900 so you'll be impressed with that. And the brakes are far superior in performance and maintenance compared to the old ones.
I would buy the car if i were you, as opposed to another of the old vintage.
