Well, you can follow Paul's advice and drain the tranny and fill it with fresh oil, but you run the risk of developing leaks. The trannys don't like changes in oil type. I speak from experience, I filled my newly acquired SPG with fresh synthetic 2 years ago, and still do battle with it using main seal stop leak additive.
If I were you, as long as the current oil in the trans isn't low, and it seems to hold the level reasonably, I would leave well enough alone and don't bother changing it.
It is possible to ID dino vs. synthetic by sight and smell, but I don't think I can explain it well enough in words.
