I drove a few automatics, and they can vary. What I know is that the recent one I drive: very, very peppy. The boost is simply longer, even on the highway,; that Turbo kicks in right to the red, and simply sits there, and what you have my good friends...is a ziiinnnnnnnnggggggg; and

And effortless, and not that break in power going from third to fourth and having to catch up again, by hitting the throttle harder. Everytime one hits the clutch , it is a like lag. Combine that to real turbo lag, and you have an intreesting ride.

And the point, that the automatic is noisy, yet what about those higher rpm levels that one has to see to get decent/good performance out of a stick shift?
