CIS 900T praise

Would like to sing the praise of my CIS 900T, but first a question.
Would running on three cylinders, thus sending 1/4 of the fuel into the exhaust, ruin my CAT?
Drove my 83 CIS 900T with 225K to Pasadena from Irvine (130 miles round trip through some mountain passes) in one of the hottest days here yesterday. The car became rough and lost considerable power all of a sudden on the way over, I had to push on. Did make a stop to do a quick check but missed the most obvious issue, the #2 spark plug wire came loose! Somehow, the car managed the trip with A/C running and beat everybody on the up-slope of the mountain passes (FYW 57, if that means anything to you). I am impressed.
