I think they may be fixable with some research. I had to pull apart my recirculate button because it wasn't staying in to work so i opened it up with some small flat head screwdrivers (mind you its somewhat difficult to get back together and there are contacts that have to go back together and touch etc (the metal catch had bent) so i just re aligned the little catch and it works ok now (not perfect) but compared to not working at all its great.
*** to the point--- While I had the switch apart I notice the VERY small bulb inside it that had long wire like contacts that just wrap around some of the power points for the switch it seems. The bulbs would be ok to replace if you can get a similar bulb maybe not exact but close. It should work, I did this a couple times in my 2001 AERO since those bulbs are like 10 dollars plus a piece and I had like 7 out. I went to RadioShack and found a similar bulb and wired it into the connector and it worked fine. I think this would work for the buttons on the 900's you'd just need a steady hand and a good understanding of how to put the switches together once apart.
