Hi all -
this question is related to a 1993 900 turbo convertible.
Any help greatly appreciated.
Was a complete idiot last week and did not notice my car overheating very badly - I noticed when car started hesitating/ running like crap. Appears a wire on the temp sensor on the radiator came loose - no fans. Got out and checked it out - the turbo was red hot. The car was still idling after , but no power and could not get above 1-2000 rpm. Suspected a head gasket and this weekend went through and did the head and intake and exhaust manifolds - nothing really looked all that bad. turbo seemed to spin freely too. Started it back up today and it is doing the same exact thing.Hesitating, running horribly, no rpm.
Also something that maybe part of it - the thick 1" vacuum hose? running from the intake tube to the turbo to the top of the valve cover has a crack in it - I am pretty sure this was like that before the incident and the car was still running OK (waiting on the part).
Also don't really suspect bad timing right now from the gasket job because I left the distributor exactly where it was and didn't mess with it , and was pretty careful with all the timing marks.
Any suggestions/ideas greatly appreciated. And/or what to search in the past posts.
Thanks
Rick
