82 T engine into an 84 T ?

Can I put a 1982 turbo engine into a 1984 turbo?
The 84 has APC, the 82 doesn't. I noticed that on "saabsite" they sell a different size piston for the 84 compared to the 82. So they are slightly different engines, but it would probably work? Thanks.
