That's pretty much what I've heard with the B&G's - the spring rate isn't all that much higher than stock, but the drop is pretty significant. I have Intrax on my 85, and it dropped the notoriously tall front end about 2", the rear about 1". I look like the hunchback of notre dame when I'm filling the gas tank, but the car looks much better overall (see attached pic). They're pretty stiff, but not uncomfortably so. I would definitely recommend upgrading your shocks to a Bilstein HD - a basic shock just wont be able to keep up with the stiffer springs and you'll be in for a bouncy ride...ask me how I know.
