Permanent Removal of Ignition Switch

I was wondering if anyone has permanently "fixed" their ignition switch by permanently bypassing it. The switch on my 16V 92 manual non-t convertible failed and I would like to just remove it and put manual switches in to bypass it permanently. If you have done this or have a link to another post where this has been accomplished that would be great. If anyone has seen instructions for doing this and any pictures of the end result - I would like the switches to look nice but not obvious to thieves.
Thanks!
