Convertible top stitching coming apart on the edges? Posted by Scott Brown [Email] (#1388) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Scott Brown) on Wed, 20 May 2009 19:19:26 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi all,
The stitching on my 92 Convertible top has come apart part way around the rear window. It looks to have dry rotted. Is this a big deal for the top?
The stitching is where the outer part of the roof and the interior part come together around the rear window, and to my mind may keep the weather out (from between the top layers anyway).
I'm tempted to pull out the rest as it looks pretty bad, but i don't want to inadvertently start a downward spiral for the top.
I'm not really sure of the gravity of the problem. Any thoughts/opinions appreciated.
Thanks!
