Convertible Top Question

I had a new top installed on my '91 vert last year. Recently I noticed two small round wear spots near the edge of the top on the passengers side.....one spot is almost worn through. Upon investigation I saw that there are 3 screws/nuts through each side of the frame. When the top is folder down it lays on the screws and the weight is causing the wear. Those screws should obviously be covered......are there some sort of caps for them that might have come off over time? How have others dealt with this problem? I taped some foam insulation onto the frame but that looks ugly and I'm sure that it won't last. any help would be appreciated.
