E-brake on '87 & pad question Posted by DivrDon [Email] (#1004) [Profile/Gallery] (more from DivrDon) on Wed, 8 Jul 2009 16:25:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I had no e-brakes on my '87TC. Investigating, I found the RF adjuster lever on the caliper nearly frozen. PB Blaster and working back and forth has freed it up, bu I can push the lever to the caliper slide by hand and no brake resistance. The pads are nearing need for replacement, down to about 4mm, but can there be some other problem internal to the caliper or piston?
Also, current pads are PBR Metal Masters and have worked long and well. Rotors look great with no groves (replaced when current pads installed). And almost new MM in rear. But are ceramic pads that much better than MM and can I change over the front pads without changing rotors? Can I have ceramics in front with standard MM in rear without lockup problems?
