ignition lock cylinder pin, no spring action Posted by michael [Email] (#1365) [Profile/Gallery] (more from michael) on Thu, 3 Sep 2009 16:20:27 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My headlights and radio are coming on when the key is off and out of the lock cylinder, NOT when the key is in the cyl. Also, door chimes have ceased. I have traced it to the pin coming out of the bottom of the lock cylinder and the lever/mechanism going to the iginition switch. It seems that when the key is out the pin isn't pushing down enough to push in the pin on the ignition switch. Should the pin that comes out of the bottom of the lock cylinder have some kind of spring action in order to keep pressure on the lever when the key is out of the lock cylinder? is there a separate spring for this or is it the whole lock cylinder that is bad? The ignition switch is brand new. Thanks!
