Boston Acoustics S45 4" 2-way Speakers
Some speakers will need a spacer for the tweeter to fit, but then they are too "low" and hit other things inside the dash opening. The Boston Acoustics that I bought from clearance at Crutchfield fit perfectly. However, they do not sound as good as the stock. I am using a nice Nakamichi Head Unit's internal amp for the front and the built in amp for the back. My car is low miles and the stock speakers like new, so I put the stock Clarion 4" back in and will save these B-A speakers to use when my stock speakers rot.
The B-A speakers provide sharp treble but no midrange sound so for me they are not very good. There may be better but your choice is limited because most speakers now have that raised tweeter. Pioneer makes a cheap speaker that fits also.
