I use Honda MTF Posted by Bob_SAAB_101 [Email] (#460) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Bob_SAAB_101) on Tue, 17 Nov 2009 14:36:56 In Reply to: Re: Fluids for '93 900S? (Honda MTF? Redline? It works very good as my transmission shifts perfectly. I'm not sure if it is related to the fluid but I do have a small leak at the shifter seal. The MTF is about $8 a liter at any honda dealer, there is only one kind.
I flushed all the old oil out by opening the inspection ports and spraying a liter of the H MTF to clean the gears. Then I sealed it all up and filled with the honda MTF. It is probably possible to suck all the fluid out, fill with H MTF, run for awhile, then empty and refill but I don't know how important this is. I've read that it is not compatable with motor oil but I don't know that for sure..
