Will they rub? It depends...

I run 205/50 R16's (aeros) on my 1990 SPG. They initially rubbed quite a bit in the rear when hitting large bumps. I did an axle relocation via Brad at KC Saab, still with some minor rubbing. I then extended the bump stops by 1/4 inch and everything is good.
Others have not rubbed with 205/50's, but many have. Your convertable springs are not as short as my SPG (unless they were swapped), so you may get lucky.
Others have gone 205/45 to avoid the rubbing all together, but that smaller look is not for me.
Best of luck, there is a lot of info on the board here about this. Consider searching "aero wheels" or "aero rims". Also you can search my sig (Saab Junkie) I believe I have talked about my experience before.
