Could be lost motion in the clutch pedal to master cylinder actuation. Look for worn pedal bushing pivots and the tell tale egg shaped worn hole in the clevis joint from the pedal arm to master cylinder piston behind the knee blaster.
It could be low on oil....or the oil is toooooo thick. Or all of the above including the clutch line needing to be bled, or a motor mount letting the engine migrate slightly....
