Unlike the NG900 and later Convertible tops, which can be swapped fairly easily, the C900 top is stapled to the body at the back end. This keeps the whole roof tight when it is closed.
Some have done a swap, but after looking at the factory manual, I doubt I'd try it myself. I doubt I'd even try to install a new one myself.
One difference between a "used" top and a "new" one is the length of the material at the back. When new, the tops have three inches or more of excess material where the material attaches to the staple strips. The material is stretched taut, then stapled. I don't know if you can obtain the same level of stretch with an already trimmed top.
