Are the signs of leakage at the valve cover? Sometime I've found that owners have overtighten the bolts on the valve cover and the bottom side of it needs to be file down because of the soft alluiminum being distorted. This doesn't allow the valve cover to sit completely flat. Most all high mileage Saab need to pulley seal and oil pump housing seal replaced. Just gets old, cracked and heated. PITA job but, I just happen to be doing both on my 92/900t
