Neither will have any effect on your oil press light, but both will make for a quieter valve train. The slider runs between $15-20 & a new style tensioner about $60 (both aftmkt ScanTech). BEWARE though...there are two versions of the slider & I had a well informed site sponsor sell me the wrong one. Upon investigating, they were (& still are I believe) selling the newer 88'+ slider under both part #'s. It's wider than the pre 88' part & WILL NOT FIT 85-87' 16v engines. A real PIA to discover this once the vc is off.
If your chain tensioner has a low profile, flat top & is light copper in color...it's the old style & you should bin it.
Do those things & get a $5 oil press switch for good measure...or give the old girl some time to load up those dry hydraulic tappets. I wouldn't use 20w/50 unless it's really hot where you are. Even if it's sweltering , 15w/40 "diesel oil" is about as heavy as I'd go.
Btw, anyone still using a Fram OF after so many people have reported filtering media failures is asking for trouble. Cardboard endcaps....glued on? Doesn't take a genius to see that's a bad idea in a hot oily engine...though it's cold starts w/thick oil that generally blow em' apart.
