That is really great. So it was the fuel pump relay after all. I will make note of your mentioning that the fuel pump gauge was not working until the relay was replaced. That is an important symptom like the tach not moving when the CPS is kaput. How long has the car not been running?
Get Some Techron by Chevron into the fuel system then go through as you plan to replace all fluids & filters to give yourself a base to go from. Many opinions & subsequent posts about manual transmission fluids here. I prefer the Redline MTL for manual trannys. If you are going to replace the thermostat, I would suggest you try a 180 degree stat & the same on the sensor which triggers the fans. It makes a big difference.
