The ballbearings near the clockspring are probably fine. The "stupid" plastic inner bushing always goes bad and I just changed two more yesterday. You can do it without removing the knee bolster. Just clip the black plastic tiestrap that holds the horn and airbag wires so they can be pulled out far enough to be unplugged.Pry off the springsteel circle clip from the steering colume,clean out the mangled plastic and insert a new bushing. (hard to find) Re-install the circle clip. I'm going to make my next one from a strip of coiled plastic or a bottle cap, or equivalent. It's just a centering spacer but you need it or eventually the clockspring will break.$$$$$$$$$$$ Do not turn on the ignition key or you"ll have to erase the SRS light codes before the system can be re-activated! Takes 27 minutes. Bil
