If you search egr recall there are a number of posts. Justin van Abrahams said some shops use an out of date book that calls for the EGR system. He said there should be up to date info on the latest software programs. I went to the referee on a related problem. They had a very out of date book. I got thru them by providing written documents. Anders has a post from about 5 years ago where he posted a copy of a recall document. I'd print that out at the very least. My Calif. 91T still has the EGR plumbing on it but there is an added resistor in the wiring and the car has the non-EGR ECU.I presume the EGR electrical has been deactvated. Keep us posted on how it goes.
What is the cold start/knock sensor. Is that an easy bolt on fix?
