Thanks Vern, particularly for letting me know about the brake line. I didn't know that's what it was! Now I'll be sure to get it 100% correct.

A quick follow up, if you don't mind:

-What are you distinguishing between when you refer to the "3/8 pad" and the "pad on the floor". Is the pad on the floor the grayish-greenish coating visible in the picture, while the 3/8 pad is the foam/vinyl/rubber under-padding that lies just underneath the carpet? I've looked for this piece but can't find it. Can you point me to the site sponsor that has it?



I'm looking into new-to-me, used carpeting from the saabnet classifieds right now. But if that doesn't work out, your sewing from a piece from under the rear seat is a great idea!

Floormats will be a must! I bought some temps right after buying the car a couple months ago. Unfortunately the PO did not share this idea.
