1993 900s sedan.
ok, so I figured this would be 5 screws from the bottom, in + out in a few minutes given the lack of info in the Bentley... ha! all but 2 of the screws mount from inside the car... why?!?
anyway, searched the board, found the excellent post in the link below. I've got half the interior out + removed the rear 2 screws inside, and the middle screws from the bottom. The front one is a bit more of a challenge. I've found the recess with the screw as Jeff describes it. Problem is, it's located under the central air duct that I can't figure out how to remove. I took off the 2 obvious torx's but it won't budge. Any idea how it's supposed to come off? The screw in question is under a wiring harness under this duct. Very convenient placement.
It's funny, because we joke about the amount of work it takes to change simple things on modern Audis etc, but this should be so easy + it is certainly a pain in the neck. Like Jeff, I don't have welding equipment to add a nut from the outside... tempting though. this is the second time this car's heat shield has been replaced (first time by our indy)... just looked under the 1989 - it's heatshield looks even worse! so I guess I'll get to reuse this knowledge...
thought I'd be spending the afternoon installing a new exhaust, but like usual, nothing's quite that easy!
any suggestions much appreciated, thanks in advance!
James...
