Help I'm outta money & wife wants it gone. Start issue Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Sun, 26 Sep 2010 05:11:58 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I got an 88 vert that had a bad motor so I got a 90 vert motor from a salvage yard that is in good shape. Swapped them out, replaced a ton of parts. Drained and filled everything, new hoses, plugs, coil, etc. Also put a newer turbo on since the one I had was loose in the shaft and making noise.
At first it would turn over but not start, not getting gas I think. Then about the time the gas started flowing I had a ground wire make contact with the starter and it burned off. The starter then later just went "click" like the starter hit something. Checked out the starter and it was bad. Replaced the starter. Then it did the same thing. I can turn the motor over by hand. Replaced the ignition switch under the console (it's an automatic). Everything seems to be good, battery is newer and charged, etc. but now the lights just come on the dash and you hear the relays, fuel pump etc. but it won't even turn over. There does appear to be a wire missing from the automatic gear shaft to someplace? The ground wire is attached but the upper part of the little black roundish thing by the neutral safety switch has a place where a wire may have been soldered.
Long story short I'm out of money and my wife is out of patience with this project. She wants her 2009 9-3 bad in the garage this week.
So any advice would be appreciated OR if you are interested I might be willing to give or trade this to a good home. You'll have to come tow it off at this point and I'm in St. Louis. It's gotta be close I'm telling you.
