just tires website has kelly navigator touring gold 195/65/15H's for $87.00 each (expensive to me). seems to have the features i'd like, but their mounting price seems to be a rip off. for the 4 tires, $101.00 to stem, mount, and balance. there is a used tire shop nearby that will do the same for all 4 for $50.00 which seems more reasonable.

tire rack website has the kuhmo ecsta and the general altimax for a little less per tire, which in reading old posts here seem to be popular choices. but which version of those tires? they list several ecstas and several altimaxes. i do not know the tire rack installer fees for mounting.

anyone have any real world experience with the kelly tires? anyone with the ecstas can tell me about their wet weather handling? there seems to be a lot of comments about bad and breaking loose suddenly in wet.

just tires has a 6 month free financing deal (pay off in that time no interest) so that is a big advantage to cash strapped me. i don't know if tire rack has any such deal. unfortunately, cannot get just tires to meet price against tire rack as they don't stock the kellys.

the kellys are apparently a dunlop tire product. but does anyone have any other suggestions as to what i might consider rubber-wise?

any help would be greatly appreciated, i've got two bald fronts and a leaky rear, so i'm not comfortable driving my usual 75-80 on them. rain might be coming too!

thanks all!
mark :-)
