Blown headgasket gets worse(long)

Update on my 92t conv. 137k mik with a blown gasket. So, my mechanic finally gets the head torn off, sure enough,
the gasket was detoriated, and leaking in #4 cyl, but when he removed the gasket from the head, the head itself also has a crack in number one cylinder starting at the cylinder
wall and headed for the outside wall(not quite through yet). He
said that it's nothing I did, a common stress crack from all the
heating and cooling cycles.
He's looking for a used cyl head. What a way to start out the
new year!!! Other than the AC compressor, the car has not had
any major repairs in the eleven years I've had it.
