My wife drove a 1995 900SE v6 for many years. When we sold it, it had over 230k on the original engine and transmission.

It was by far the least troublesome, most reliable SAAB we ever owned.

Changing the timing belt/tensioner/ and pulleys every 60k is expensive, and time consuming, but otherwise, the drive-train required very little service. I know I had to install an oil cooler around 200k, and a coil pack maybe around 180k. Valve cover gaskets at some point, and cam seals when I did the timing belt. I think I put a starter in it at some point too. Otherwise it was an awesome little car. Lots of power, cool engine sounds under throttle. I really like the v6. Aside from the timing belt stuff, it seems less prone to trouble than the newer b205/b235 engines.

It was even good on gas!
