Engine Pull: Taper pin nut location? Posted by ChrisMiami [Email] (#1592) [Profile/Gallery] (more from ChrisMiami) on Thu, 27 Jan 2011 06:02:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On pg. 201-2 of Bentley, Fig. 3 shows "Manual shift selector rod taper pin retaining nut".
Unfortunately, there's not enough context in the diagram for me to know exactly where to look for this. I'm guessing it up under the car somewhere underneath the shifter?
Once I find the nut (and remove it), Bentley says "Disconnect the rod from the shift linkage". What is entailed in that? Is it a whole huge job that includes disassembling the shifter housing inside the car, etc., or is it just something simple like, once the nut is off, just pull the thing down to disconnect?
Thanks,
Chris
