There was no "brochure" for the cars. They were a suprise gift to Saab USA dealership owners, at the 1988 introduction of the "CD" model 9000. I have heard the story told (and actually seen a small video somewhere) that after the CD was introduced, dealers were taken to a parking lot at the facility, where 288 Springtime In Sweden cars sat. One for each Saab USA dealership owner to take back and sell. 284 5-speeds. 4 automatics. Each was black, with a black top and gray hard tonneau cover. The cars were debadged in the same manner that a SPG was. They all had buffalo gray leather, and SPG wheels, SPG trim (special rear bumper extensions for convertibles only). Tuning and suspension were standard 900 turbo. The only "SPG" thing about the car was the appearance. Each had the pictured emblem, stuck to the glovebox door. Many dealers kept them as momentos of the trip, some were sold still attached to the car.

The jury is still out on what other treats were included. Some say the 4-spoke Momo steering wheel was on all cars, some say all cars got woodgrain shift knob, etc. Mine had a standard 3-spoke steering wheel, but did get the wooden shift knob.

As a special treat, stuffed in the trunk of each car was an Orrefors crystal vase, etched with the Saab emblem. Again, many of these found their way onto the shelf at the home dealership. I have never seen one in person.
