I would never crawl under the car with just a jack stand holding it up. I was only admitting that I have done this during brake work. A catastrophic jack failure is possible, but a gradual fall is more likely (what I meant by hydrolic failure). Still, you are right, NEVER crawl under a vehicle with just a jack holding it up.
