My take on this is that the if the front motor mount moved, then the shift mechanism isn't rigged properly now.
I would get the motor setting the way you want it whether you change the passenger mount or not....might deserve a special check of it's own since you can get to that one....
Then, go through the process of rigging the shifter properly. The key is to make sure the gearbox side shift rod is firmly shoved into third with the coupling disconnected. Then, use the alignment pin in the console before you tighten the coupling.
One of the problems with not doing this on a lift is you can stretch out the body if you lift it from the front......knowing you have a vert. If you lift the car up on the four jack points, at least it wouldn't rack the body when you set the console alignment pin.
Check the motor mount bolts on the driver's side to make sure they are tight from down below. If those go loose, you can have 2nd gear grinding.
