Fuel Line hole - too hard to replace?

Hi.
After experiencing the smell of fuel in the car (88 900tc), searching the boards pointed me to discover a pinhole size leak in the fuel line, about an inch or two below where it connects to the fuel rail. From the various posts, it sounds like there is enough play in the line to cut off the inch or two that is damaged, and re-attach. However, it also sounds like it's really un-fun getting the hard hose back on the fitting.
I don't have any flaring tools, and have a backlog of projects ranging from replacing the window motor in the other Saab, to fixing the bathroom whose plumbing I tore up. So I'm wondering if tackling this is opening up more than i can handle at the moment, where as perhaps it would be something my indy could fix in short order? Of course, I suppose he could also advise on replacing the whole line, and I'm not sure what I'd be looking at cost wise on that front.
Any advice is appreciated.
Brian
