Hey!
First of all.......MANY THANKS to all for yours input over this past week-end......gave me a good sense of direction!
So,I got a total flush today and replaced the merkonV with the needed ATF type "F" and toping it up with Lucas treatment.........took the pan off, cleaned the filter(which seems pretty plugged-up and heavy in weight),disconnected the return line from the transmission cooler ran fresh oil and pump all the old oil out, cleaning out also the torque converter till it came clean 'n pink/red .
While I was into flushing also flush the PS and FD...sure wont hurt!
Being told that it could take a couple/few drives before it shift back to normal.....if it ever does.......so far since the today flush the second does shift smoother then before.slide right in and third almost goes unoticed(almost prefer 3rd to be more evident).........we will see after a few more drives!
My concern is that after sitting for a 2or3 hours, when its cold..my first 1 or 2 miles...the second gear slips, very difficult to engage......will this correct itself after a few drives......should I let it in park to warm-up lots more, longer before driving off(its spring weather for god sake!!)........or is this a real sign that it will only get worst??
Aside from this cold start slipping ...when warmed up already feels much smoother when shifting....whereas before(with Merkon V) the shifting in 2nd and 3rd was much more rough/agressive with a clunk/kick each and every time!
Anyway hoping for the best.......will keep posted!
Thanks again!
Marc
