It seems to me that I remember something in _Hot Rod_ in the '70s about a 99 which resulted from a similar project, except that the engine and transaxle used came from an Olds Toronado 455. Or maybe it was a Porsche 912 converted to mid engine with the Toronado train -- I'm not sure about my memory's veracity, but it was one or the other.
