Trust me, there's no point in replacing a bad '85 wiring harness with another '85 harness, as it will follow suit in short order--they are all made of this vegetable-based biodegradable stuff... they fixed that in mid-'86.
Most problems with the '85s seem to happen on the LH Jetronic wiring harness which comes from the ECU in the passenger footwell and then drapes across the top of the engine where it hooks up to the injectors and various sensors. Other problems tend to happen in the harness which comes out of the fuse box, then ends up around the passenger side headlamp...
If your problems are isolated to the engine wiring harness itself, it's pretty easy to replace just that with the harness from an '87 or '88 900 turbo.
If your problems are with the wiring harness which comes right out of the fuse box, that's unfortunate... the pinout of the three plugs in the fuse box is year-specific in '85. Further, you'll have to deal with relocating APC stuff, which also lives in this harness...
Anyway, if you can be more specific about where your problems are, perhaps we can better help you figure out the best course of action.
Best of luck,
--Jeff
