Thanks Notnoel. I'm using a mountain bike brake cable, the style with the large barrel end. The original cable has a brass barrel on the accelerator end, so that's where I'm putting the brake barrel. I have a small brass "barrel washer" that is curved & has a center hole to slip onto the cable. I've got my cable-locking nut all ready set aside for when I get home to work on it.
Unfortunately, the housing is shot (broken into two pieces) & can't be reused. I'll include that in the pics. So I've GOT to replace the housing into the two ends as well.
My 1990's a manual w/o cruise. The cable enters thru the firewall, up above the pedals, so I don't have to pull anything thru the speaker opening. I've already threaded the new cable thru the plastic bushing at the top of the pedal arm.
