Gearing was my question as well - I don't own a c900 that could do 162 miles an hour, but if I had an extra 1000rpm or so past the stock redline I could. :)
I don't think power is a huge roadblock at that speed. It's fast, but not *that* fast. My '95 Alfa 164Q will do 160mph (and I can vouch for 150mph of that) on 230hp. IIRC an '88 M5 could do 155mph on 260hp, and that thing was as much a brick wall as a c900 is - maybe moreso than an '87+ one. I think a 300-350hp c900 should be quite capable of 162mph, and plenty of folks have built c900s in that range.
