Car: 88 turbo
I'm trying to sort out what the deal is. Just had a used AC compressor ( mechanic said it worked well) put in and charged up with freon. Mechanic said AC works but the fuse blows. He pointed to the crudded up wires near the fuse box near the driver door. So I took it home.
So, I taped up the wires. Still the #6 fuse blows out when I push the snow flake.
Troubleshooting said unplug the fans one at a time and then see if it still blows after pressing the snow flake. It does.
There must be a short somewhere. I looked around under the fuse box and it seems okay. I am thinking the wire(s) between the snowflake switch and the fuse box is grounding somewhere. I really don't want to take off the lower dash and poke around ( especially if that's the wrong idea).
Anyone out there have this issue? What was the fix?
