Splicing isn't actually necessary Posted by Steve Schwedland [Email] (#2368) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Steve Schwedland) on Mon, 25 Jul 2011 11:12:13 In Reply to: Splicing Distibutor Wire, westminster, Sun, 24 Jul 2011 23:15:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
If you are careful, you can pull the plug apart and just swap out the plug with the correct one. It's hard to explain, but the three wire are connected to little spade connector ends that slide into the plastic housing. These little spades can be slid out of the plastic housing and then simply slid into the new housing.
I've done this more times than I want to think about, having been forced by financial issues to rebuild my distributor with junkyard parts (over and over again). I have found that, once you know what you are doing, you can rebuild these distributors with Hall Sensors from almost any C900 that has the distributor mounted sensor.
