Stumbling and hesitation

1991 900s, I'm getting stumbling and hesitation below 2k rpm. It runs great above that and pulls hard up towards redline. Below 2k, it acts like it's running out of fuel, but then revs good once it's above 2k. It will also idle pretty smoothly as well, but the transition from idle to gas pedal is shaky. I've routinely done plugs and wires, caps and rotors. I'll have to look at my records to see the last time I did them.
Anything in particular to check?
