The only part that I have ever annealed for aircraft engines is the washer for spark plugs.I personally don't believe in trying to save $8 by annealing a washer. When I have done it in the past I used an oven we have for heating cylinder jugs to install the valve guides. I just turn the oven on and set the timer and walk away and let the washer cool in the oven. It just isn't worth the time to do it and then have the chance of the washer cracking and the set marks aren't going to come out and that gives the chance of leaks. Having fuel or compression leak from an engine is not good.
