92-3 2.1 AC pulley too close to firewall Posted by Roger D [Email] (#1121) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Roger D) on Tue, 20 Sep 2011 08:11:30 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
This seems odd. I'm working on two 2.1 cars. One's a 92 and the other a 93. They both have the later 3 bolt mount AC idler pulley brackets. Just did the front crank seals and oil pump o-ring so I had the crank pulleys out and they both were in good shape. Problem: when I look at the belt system from the pass side the AC idler pulley is about a 1/8th inch closer to the firewall than the compressor. The P.S. belt and alternator belts all look in proper alignment with the crank pulley. Is this a design quirk? Never saw this situation with the older 2 bolt pulley brackets.
