Just a thought, but in the past, when faced with lift support inadequacy, I've had occasion to take advantage of the thoughtfully engineered latch on the interior passenger side of the hatch, which, when engaged with the parcel shelf in an upright position, provides a more than adequate reinforcement to the lifts, regardless of accessories, as well as the necessary margin of safety.
