The turbocharger from a '91 is a water-jacketed and oil-cooled Mitsubishi TE05.
The turbocharger in a '85 is an oil-cooled-only Garrett T3.
The problem you will have are the water feed and return lines. It is not advisable to run the TE05 without these. The return line is simple enough to transplant from the '91--you'll need to take the lower rad hose from the '91, as well as a metal pipe that bolts to the front of the primary case.
The nasty part is going to be the feed. I actually can't remember if '91 switched to the feed coming off the back of the head near the distributor, or if that switch was in '92 and '91 still has it coming off the intake manifold between the #3 and #4 intake runners.
In either case, the stock setup on an '85 has no provision for this supply line. Some kind of groovy arrangement with an adapter that goes into a hose is probably the easiest arrangement. Removing the intake manifold and drilling/tapping for it would be very proper, or replacing the intake manifold with that from an '87 or '88 T16 would do it. (Yes, I know the water-jacketed Garrett T3 didn't come in until '88, but every '87 I've seen has the provision as if they were getting ready...)
Perhaps someone else has some ingenious ideas about the water supply line? I seem to recall someone has done it to an 8VT so clearly it's possible.
Bests,
